About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Costume Assistant to join our London-based costume and wardrobe department supporting film, television, theatre, and live performance productions.
This role is ideal for someone starting a career in costume design, wardrobe assisting, fashion production, or theatre costume making. You will work closely with the Costume Designer and Costume Supervisor to support costume creation, maintenance, and continuity across productions.
This is a fixed-term contract running from early June to late September. Most work will take place on location across London, including film sets, studios, theatres, and production sites, alongside workshop and wardrobe environments
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with costume fittings, alterations, sewing, tailoring, and repairs
- Support quick costume changes on set and backstage
- Steam, iron, age, distress, and prepare costumes for production
- Maintain costume continuity across scenes and performances
- Organise wardrobe inventory, storage, and studio spaces
- Source fabrics, accessories, and costume materials within budget
- Assist performers with dressing and costume changes
- Support logistics including transport, packing, and returns across London locations
- Prepare costumes for filming schedules and performance runs
What You Bring
- Basic sewing skills (hand or machine stitching)
- Interest in film, TV, theatre costume, or wardrobe work
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced production environments
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-location shoots
- Willingness to travel across London production sites
